Our Manufacturing Capabilities

Custom Commercial Furniture Built to Your Exact Specifications

West Contract Furniture is a factory-direct commercial furniture manufacturer located in Hanover, Ontario, Canada. Every piece we deliver is built to order at our own facility — not sourced from a third party, not imported, not assembled from standard components. This means every specification detail is in our control, and every piece meets our quality standards before it leaves our facility.

Whether you need a single custom boardroom table or a complete furniture program for a 300-room hotel, we have the capability, capacity, and craftsmanship to deliver.

Custom Specification

Every West Contract project begins with your specifications. We work with your design team, interior designer, or project manager to understand exactly what you need — and then we build it.

Dimensions

Every piece is built to your exact measurements. Standard sizes are a starting point, not a limitation. We regularly produce oversized tables, non-standard case dimensions, and custom height variations to meet specific project requirements.

Wood Species

We work with a range of premium North American hardwoods including:

  • Solid maple — our most versatile species, used across our waterfall table programs and drawer box construction
  • White oak — currently the most sought-after species in contemporary hospitality and commercial design
  • Black walnut — rich, dark, and deeply characterful — ideal for premium and VIP applications
  • Cherry — warm reddish-brown tones that deepen beautifully with age
  • Custom species — speak to our team about other species for specific project requirements

Finishes

We offer a wide range of finish options including natural oils, stains, tinted lacquers, and painted finishes. Finish samples are available on request before you commit to your order. We can also match existing finishes for renovation and expansion projects where consistency with existing furniture is required.

Hardware

Full hardware selection including drawer pulls, door knobs, hinges, and soft-close mechanisms. We source quality hardware from leading suppliers and can accommodate specific hardware specifications from your design team.

Upholstery & COM

For upholstered components — seating, headboards, upholstered panels — we accept COM (Customer's Own Material). This means your fabric or leather selection is supplied to us and applied at our facility, ensuring your project achieves the exact material specification your designer intends.

Technology Integration

Modern commercial and hospitality furniture increasingly requires integrated technology solutions. West Contract Furniture has the precision fabrication capability to incorporate technology infrastructure directly into furniture pieces during manufacturing — not as an afterthought.

Our technology integration capabilities include:

  • Power outlets — 110V standard North American outlets integrated flush into table surfaces or modesty panels
  • USB-C charging — high-speed USB-C ports integrated into table surfaces
  • USB-A charging — standard USB-A ports for legacy device compatibility
  • Data ports — ethernet and data connectivity integration
  • Cable management — integrated routing channels and grommets for clean cable management
  • Custom cutouts — precision routed openings for client-supplied technology modules

Our Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge program is a strong example of this capability — custom solid maple and walnut waterfall tables delivered across multiple lounge locations, each with integrated USB-C, USB-A, and 110V power charging built into the table surface.

Production Capacity

West Contract Furniture operates from our manufacturing facility in Hanover, Ontario. Our production capacity supports both small custom projects and large-scale furniture programs:

  • Small projects — single custom pieces, prototype development, and small-run programs
  • Mid-scale programs — 10 to 100 units with consistent finish and specification across the run
  • Large-scale programs — 100+ units for hotel, multi-residential, and institutional programs
  • Phased delivery — consolidated and staged shipping to align with your construction and installation schedule

Delivery Commitment

West Contract Furniture understands that commercial and hospitality projects run on fixed schedules. A delayed furniture delivery can hold up an opening, disrupt a construction timeline, or impact your relationship with your client. Our commitment is simple — we agree on a delivery date at the time of order, we communicate proactively if anything changes, and we deliver on our promise. Our track record of on-time delivery for programs including the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is the best evidence we can offer.

Construction Standards

Every piece manufactured at West Contract Furniture meets the same construction standards regardless of order size:

  • Solid maple English dovetail drawer boxes — every drawer, every piece, every program. No exceptions.
  • Mortise and tenon frame joinery — precision machined and bonded for permanent structural integrity
  • Five-piece floating panel doors — prevents warping, binding, and swelling with seasonal humidity changes
  • 360° finishing — every surface finished including drawer interiors, door backs, and undersides
  • No particle board — ever. We use solid wood, quality multi-ply plywood, and high-grade MDF where appropriate
  • Soft-close hardware — standard across all drawer and door applications

OEM & Private Label Manufacturing

West Contract Furniture has extensive experience as a manufacturing partner for leading North American furniture brands. Our OEM capabilities include:

  • Manufacturing to client-supplied design specifications and technical drawings
  • Finish matching to existing brand standards
  • Private label packaging and documentation
  • Consistent quality across large production runs
  • Confidential manufacturing partnerships — we understand the importance of discretion in OEM relationships
