PRODUCT CARE & CLEANING

FADING

To avoid fading, keep your furniture out of direct sunlight. Do not place directly under windows. Periodically rotate accessories on furniture, so they don't always sit in the same spot.

CLEANING

Avoid staining. Clean up spills immediately by using a blotting rather than a wiping action. Water left over a long period of time may cause white spots in the finish. Alcohol, perfume, after-shave, and medications can damage the finish if not quickly removed.


POLISHING

POLISHES contain detergents, emulsifiers and mineral oil. Detergents clean dirt from the furniture, emulsifiers give it body to clean and last longer, and the mineral oil is left behind as a barrier for dust and moisture. We recommend the Guardsman brand. Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain.


WAX BUILD-UP

The regular use of WAXES may result in a build-up of wax film, which could attract dirt, smoke and other pollutants in the air, resulting in smudges and streaks. Many waxes also contain grit which can permanently damage furniture surfaces if used.


WOOD STRESS

Avoid wood stress from extreme temperature changes by arranging furniture away from radiators, heat and air vents, and air conditioning units.


PROTECTION

Use cloth/felt pads to protect the furniture surface from flowerpots, vases, hot dishes, plastic, rubber placemats, and bookends as some may contain ingredients that damage the finish. Use a protective pad when writing with a ballpoint pen on the furniture surface.

Limited Warranty

We are pleased to provide the initial purchaser with a Lifetime Structural Warranty against defects in design, construction and materials. Finishes and cover materials are warranted for two years subject to normal wear and tear. Electrical and mechanical parts are warranted for two years. Our warranty will not apply where there is evidence of alteration, misuse, negligence or abuse. No warranty shall apply to COM fabrics. During the warranty period, we will repair, or at our option, replace any product where we are satisfied the product is defective. Decisions on warranty rest solely with West Furniture Co Inc. All freight charges for items being returned for service must be prepaid by the customer. If a claim is accepted, we will gladly refund the charges incurred.

Problems resulting from the following are NOT covered in the above Warranty:

  • External causes such as accident, abuse, or misuse.
  • Servicing not authorized by West Furniture.
  • Cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and damage to the finish and/or paint.
  • Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions.

For repairs not covered by this Warranty, West Furniture will provide an estimate for the repairs or recommend a local service technician. If your furniture ever needs service contact us at sales@westbrosfurniture.com or call 519-364-7770 M-F, 9 AM – 5 PM EST. We may direct you to authorized repair service or ask that you send your furniture to us for repair in which case we will send you a Service Return Authorization and arrange the shipment. Please do not ship your furniture without our prior authorization.

When returning your furniture for warranty service, a copy of the Service Return Authorization number must be attached. You should include the following: your name, address, email address, daytime telephone number, and a description of the problem.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, AT OUR OPTION, OF ANY DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND SHALL IN NO EVENT INCLUDE INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL COMMERCIAL OR PROPERTY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCTS LOST, STOLEN AND/OR DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING.

 

This Warranty may not be altered other than in writing signed by an officer of West Furniture Co Inc.
